Coloured thermal transfer

This is a direct roll printing process, whereby heat and pressure are used to print from a coloured thermal transfer ribbon placed between the printing die and the printing surface.
It is normally used to give importance to product logos or only on some parts of the box.
This system is normally used on paper and flat cardboard.
Corrugated cardboard can also be printed at a slower speed, but the result is imperfect compared with the materials above, because the ribbon transfer suffers from the corrugated structure of the cardboard, which is not absolutely smooth.
